Jessie Murphy‑Allen joined Murray Chambers in 2026 following 12 years’ practice as a solicitor at Finlaysons Lawyers and the South Australian Crown Solicitor’s Office. Her practice spans a broad range of civil litigation, with particular expertise in employment and workplace disputes, insurance, professional indemnity, and personal injury matters.
Jessie has extensive experience in complex and contested proceedings, including interlocutory disputes, appellate work, and matters involving statutory interpretation. She regularly appears in the Federal Court of Australia, state courts and tribunals, and the Fair Work Commission.
Her depth of knowledge across employment, workers’ compensation, insurance, and litigation enables her to skilfully navigate matters in which multiple areas of law intersect across jurisdictions.
Jessie has been involved in a number of significant and high-profile matters, including Federal Court litigation concerning contractual disputes and workplace policies, as well as appellate proceedings before the Fair Work Commission. She has also acted in regulatory and disciplinary matters, coronial inquests, and workplace incidents requiring critical response advice following fatalities and serious incidents.
In addition to her practice, Jessie is a casual academic at Flinders University, presents CPD seminars, and contributes to LexisNexis Practical Guidance. She is Chair of the Northern Community Legal Service Management Committee and a member of the Women Lawyers Association SA Management Committee.
