Kerry is a barrister practising from Murray Chambers, primarily in Adelaide but also in Darwin and Perth. She accepts briefs in all areas except criminal law and worker’s compensation but has a focus on commercial matters, including contract, professional negligence, competition and equity disputes. Kerry also appears regularly in employment, regulatory, and complex family law property matters and welcomes briefs to appear in arbitrations world-wide.
Prior to joining the independent Bar in February 2008, Kerry was an Associate at law firm Johnson Winter & Slattery practising in commercial litigation, with a particular focus on energy & resources, media law and regulatory reviews. Kerry also spent a year as the Associate to Justice David Bleby in the Supreme Court of South Australia.
Kerry holds an Honours degree of Bachelor of Laws and Legal Practice and Bachelor of International Studies, both from Flinders University, and was admitted to practice in August 2004. She joined the independent Bar in 2008 and was appointed Senior Counsel in 2020. In 2022 Kerry became a Nationally Accredited Mediator and accepts engagements to mediate disputes in commercial, workplace, family and estates matters.
She has been actively involved in a wide variety of professional bodies, and has a particular interest in access to justice, being involved in the establishment of two important not-for-profit organisations, the Refugee Advocacy Service of SA and JusticeNet SA.
